Ingredient Spotlight
Grape seed extract in Neuro Serge
What is it?
Grape seed extract comes from the seeds of Vitis vinifera grapes and is typically standardized for proanthocyanidins, a class of polyphenols studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.
What's been studied?
- Study type: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trial
- Population: 96 healthy adults over age 55
- Intervention: 250 mg/day of a standardized grape extract (Cognigrape®)
- Duration: 84 days, with assessments at 14, 28, and 84 days
- Outcomes: Improvements across memory, visuospatial ability, language, and attention measures; some effects detected within 14 days and continuing through 84 days; selective attention improved within 90 minutes of the first dose
- Limitations: Single-center, industry-funded, studied only in healthy older adults, and not yet independently replicated
What this means for Neuro Serge
Of the six ingredients in Neuro Serge, this trial reports the broadest set of positive cognitive outcomes. It's a well-designed single study with a verified dose (250 mg) — we have not confirmed whether Neuro Serge's capsule matches that amount.
What it does NOT prove
A single industry-funded trial, however well-designed, is not the same as a replicated body of evidence, and it does not establish what the finished Neuro Serge formula — six ingredients combined — does as a whole.
See the full ingredient breakdown or the evidence library for how this compares to the other five ingredients.
